The Lightning Rod is a material, one of the first six that the player obtains. The game describes it as "A device for attracting lightning. Emits a steady stream of sparks that immediately return to it."

Description: Walking builds up an energy shield that destroys enemy projectiles.

The energy shield charges at a rate of approximately 1 magicmeter for every 10 magicmeters walked.

  • The first Lightning Rod slotted will grant an additional +2 magicmeters of Maximum Shield Size.

Description: Shocks on hit, damaging the nearest enemy.

Despite the material's description, the arc will actually prioritize newly spawned enemies, not close ones. Additionally, the arc will hit enemies with 25% less damage and spellpower. This reduction takes place after all other effects that change the spellpower of the spell.
